Lead Software Engineer

Role Description

Lead Software Engineer positions offered by Cox Automotive Corporate Services, LLC (Atlanta, Georgia). Leads software development scrum team through the design and implementation of simple and scalable solutions to complex problems with .NET components and APIs in an AWS first environment; delivering leading-edge software products for our customers.

• Coordinates the engineering efforts of one of our scrum teams by applying knowledge of modern software design, best practices, design patterns, and frameworks, and an understanding of application performance and maintainability.
• Collaborate with the team to achieve the goal to build, deploy, monitor, and manage a highly performing and highly available production system.
• Influence technical solutions while coaching newer or less experienced members on your Scrum team.
• Articulate key issues, draft action plans, and communicate with management.
• Construct and coordinate services published to both internal and external consumers.
• Implement platform-level components including event architectures, messaging, and caching solutions.
• Write readable, maintainable, and efficient code while also ensuring team members do the same.
• Design and implement REST APIs, services, system tasks, and cloud solutions.
• Enhance the performance and reliability of our current solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in computer science, or related field.
• 6 years of experience developing software in C#.
• 6 years of experience in each of the following:
  • Programming web applications.
  • Performing object-oriented development.
  • Using design patterns including REST.
  • Using Angular or React web technologies.
  • Working with relational DBMS data structures including writing SQL statements.
  • Identifying system bottlenecks and architectural risks.
• In lieu of a bachelor’s degree and 6 years of experience, the employer will accept:
  • A master’s or foreign equivalent degree in the aforementioned fields and 4 years of experience.
  • A Ph.D. or foreign equivalent degree in the aforementioned fields and 1 year of experience.
• 1 year of experience working with AWS.

Requirements

• Position reports to Atlanta, GA, but may telecommute from any location in the U.S.
• Experience may be, but need not be, acquired concurrently.

Benefits

• Base salary of $186,137 - $204,385.
