Patient Care Coordinator (APCC)Location: 2 LINCOLN AVE, Rockville Centre, NY, 11570 Pay Rate: $19hr (Paid Weekly) Schedule: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM Contract: 09/14/2026 to 12/31/2026 Allmed Benefits: Vision, Health, Dental Insurance and 401(k) Interview Process: Video/Phone – 2 RoundsPosition OverviewOptum is seeking a Patient Care Coordinator (APCC) to provide professional and efficient front-desk support while delivering a positive experience for patients. The Patient Care Coordinator will assist with patient check-in and check-out, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, copay collection, and maintaining accurate patient demographic information.The ideal candidate will have prior EMR experience, strong customer service skills, and the ability to work effectively in a busy healthcare environment.Key ResponsibilitiesGreet patients in a friendly and professional manner.Answer and route incoming phone calls.Check patients in and out for appointments.Verify patient insurance information and eligibility.Collect copays and other required payments.Schedule and coordinate patient appointments.Collect and accurately update patient demographic information.Maintain accurate patient records within the EMR system.Follow all Optum front-desk policies, procedures, and guidelines.Provide excellent customer service while maintaining patient confidentiality.Perform other front-desk duties as assigned.Required QualificationsPrevious EMR experience is required.Strong customer service and communication skills.Ability to effectively communicate with patients and staff.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced healthcare setting.No professional license or certification required.Work EnvironmentSchedule: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PMDress Code: Business CasualWork Location: OptumInterview: Video/Phone interview, 2 rounds
