The County Treasurer is an elected official serving a four-year term. This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week, with extended hours because of extra workload during budget season in order to meet the needs of the budget process. Full powers of the County Treasurer are stated in the Oregon Revised Statute Chapter 208. The Treasurer is a county elected official in a highly visible public office. If the applicant appointed wishes to remain County Treasurer, they will be required to run for election in 2028.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Must be a U.S. Citizen and an Elector under the Oregon Constitution and at least 18 years of age. Must be a Grant County resident for at least one year before election.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Except that the position is elected, it would require the equivalent to a four-year college education in business or public administration or closely related field and four years’ experience in overseeing records retention operations, including supervisory responsibilities, or any satisfactory combination of experience and training which demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position. #J-18808-Ljbffr Grant County, Oregon
