Job Description Job Description Payroll Specialist Location: Hartford, CT Schedule: Hybrid | Full-Time (2 DAYS WORK FROM HOME) Compensation: $55,000–$65,000 plus comprehensive benefits A growing, multi-location organization is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to support accurate, timely payroll processing in a fast-paced and collaborative environment. This position will handle high-volume weekly and biweekly payroll for 800+ employees across multiple entities. Key Responsibilities Process high-volume weekly and biweekly payroll accurately and on time. Maintain payroll, timekeeping, accrual, and employee data within payroll systems. Process wage adjustments, retroactive pay calculations, PTO payouts, and final pay. Perform regular payroll audits to identify and correct discrepancies. Support payroll-related benefit deductions, withholdings, reporting, and reconciliations. Reconcile union billing and assist with union payroll administration. Respond to employee and management payroll questions with professionalism and discretion. Participate in payroll system enhancements, process-improvement efforts, acquisitions, and implementation projects. Ensure payroll practices remain aligned with company policy, wage-and-hour requirements, and applicable tax regulations. Qualifications 2+ years of recent end-to-end payroll experience in a high-volume, multi-site environment. Recent hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now required. Experience with UKG Workforce Ready is strongly preferred. Familiarity with union payroll processing and collective bargaining agreements is a plus. Strong knowledge of payroll principles, wage-and-hour requirements, and tax regulations. Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and data validation. Highly organized, analytical, and able to manage multiple deadlines. Ability to handle confidential information with sound judgment and discretion. Strong communication skills and a collaborative, service-focused approach. Experience using automation or AI tools to improve payroll processes is a plus. Why Consider This Opportunity?
