Registered Nurse - Cardiac Stepdown

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care to patients in a Progressive Care Unit with a focus on cardiac and telemetry patients. Ensure safe and effective delivery of healthcare services in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Responsibilities:

• Administer primary nursing care to cardiac and telemetry patients.
• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips and cardiac rhythms.
• Perform procedures such as fingerstick blood sugar testing.
• Utilize Meditech charting, Pyxis medication system, and BIPAP equipment efficiently.
• Float to other acute units including Surgical/Peds, ICU, and ER as needed.
• Maintain adherence to hospital protocols and documentation standards.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid Hawaii State nursing license by start date.
• Have at least 1 year of recent hospital acute care experience.
• Possess telemetry and progressive care nursing experience preferred.
• Be current and competent in patient monitoring and basic procedures.
• Maintain current certifications such as ACLS and PALS (preferred).
• Demonstrate strong clinical skills in cardiac and telemetry care.
