Shipping & Receiving CoordinatorThe Shipping & Receiving Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and documentation of all incoming and outgoing shipments. This individual supports the maintenance, accuracy, and proactive planning of all customer shipments. Reports to the Shipping & Receiving Manager.Summary of ResponsibilitiesPrepares transportation bills, load authorizations, packaging slips, and any other necessary documentation required for shipments; contacts various consumers and brokers to coordinate pickupsRecords shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, damages, or discrepancies, for reporting, accounting, or recordkeeping purposesContacts carrier representatives to plan for shipping and receiving of materialsResolves internal and external issues to ensure department is efficient in meeting customer needsCommunicates the coordination of and instructions for shipping and receiving of materials with carrier representativesApproaches the coordination of shipping methods to encourage the least amount of environmental impact possibleCompiles and prepares import/export reports and documentsRegularly communicates any safety or job-related concernsOther duties as assignedDesired CharacteristicsHigh school diploma or equivalent required; similar role experience a plusFluency in both English and Spanish preferred (read, write, speak)Excellent oral and written English language communication skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & Outlook)Ability to quickly and accurately input data into various computer software applicationsDemonstrated flexibility to multi-task and work autonomously in a fast-paced environmentAble to fulfill flexible scheduling requirements as determined by the manager and / or business needs of the operationMinimum Safety Training RequirementsBasic on-the-job training that satisfies the Primary Objectives of the specific position (as noted above)US-SOP-01 United in Safety ManualUS-F11 QEH&S PolicyUS-SOP-03 Team Member HandbookWe strive to demonstrate our Core Values in all positions at USM: Trust Commitment Loyalty Passion Respect Service PerformanceUSM is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer.
