The NC Department of Adult Correction is one of the largest state agencies with more than 14,000 employees. It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving lives and property through prevention, protection, and preparation as well as the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes state prisons with custody, healthcare, and facility operations staff as well as probation/parole officers who supervised sentenced people in the community. Description of Work

This position is located at Bertie Correctional Institution in Windsor, NC 27983 facility Human Resources department. This position coordinates interviews, processes hiring packages, completes tasks in Workday, assists new hires with onboarding, assists with Correctional Officer hiring, assists staff with basic pay questions, attends job fairs and hiring events. Duties performed may include but are not limited to, preparation of documents and reports, composition of memos and letters, the use of office technology, compiling records, organizing and maintaining files, posting information, greeting, referring, assisting visitors, clients, staff, and others, and photocopying. Effectively communicate with other staff and members of the general public in verbal and written form and by using existing communication systems to covey and/or obtain information, instruction and direction. Work under occasional stressful conditions in meeting deadlines. Input and comprehend computer generated data. Review completed task to ensure accuracy and integrity of information. Effectively establish, develop and maintain a filing system that allows easy access. Be able to navigate in Fiori SAP GUI and Workday. This job requires some physical effort to include walking, standing and normal office -type work.

This position will have limited contact with offenders. This position is a full-time position working Monday through Friday, 8hr day shift.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences

Salary Grade Range: $31,200.00 - $51,249.00

The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)/ Management Preferences are not required. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred.

• Documented experience in Microsoft Word
• Documented experience in Excel & Microsoft Outlook (or related software)
• Documented knowledge of clerical and/or secretarial skills

About The Division of Institutions:

The Division of Institutions manages the daily operations of all state-operated prison facilities across North Carolina. Facilities are categorized by custody levels (minimum, medium, close) and house individuals serving sentences for felony convictions. The division provides safety, security, and rehabilitative services through trained custody staff, program facilitators, and administrative personnel.
