Position Summary:

The Business Systems Analyst is the organization's subject matter expert on the company's ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) platform and a leader in business process improvement. Partners with Operations, Finance, Accounts Payable, Contract Administration, Payroll, and Human Resources to understand how work gets done, remove waste and manual workarounds, and get the most value from the ERP and related systems. Owns the testing and release process for ERP system updates, leads the discovery and implementation of new ERP system functionality, and develops the documentation and training that helps employees use our systems and processes effectively. With strong analytical, facilitation, and communication skills, translating business needs into practical systems and process solutions and keeps stakeholders informed throughout.

Essential Functions/Position Responsibilities:

• Adhere to and promote all Company Safety Policies and the Company Code of Conduct.
• Serve as the company's primary ERP subject matter expert across Operations, Finance & Accounting, Contract Administration, Payroll, and Human Resources; configure, support, troubleshoot, and optimize the system, including complex or uncommon issues.
• Own ERP release management by reviewing updates, assessing business impact, coordinating testing and sign-off, recommending production deployment, communicating changes, and escalating defects to the vendor.
• Lead business process improvement initiatives using Lean methods to identify waste, pain points, redundant spreadsheets, shadow systems, and opportunities to improve workflows.
• Gather requirements, test, implement, and support new or underutilized ERP functionality and modules, such as Employee Self Service, prevailing wage schedules, payment terms, Pay When Paid, Retroactive Workbench, Online Forecasting, CRM (Customer Relationship Management), and change order management.
• Develop and execute transition and rollout plans for system and process changes, including user instructions, communications, go-live support, and post-implementation follow-up.
• Partner with the ERP vendor, consulting partners, BI (Business Intelligence), and development staff on support escalations, development requests, process reviews, reports, dashboards, and implementation projects.
• Develop and maintain the Operations Manual, standard operating procedures, end-user documentation, and training curriculum; design and deliver training on ERP functionality, workflows, and process improvement methods.
• Manage assigned requests and backlog, support intake and prioritization, and contribute system and process expertise to department and company-wide technology initiatives.
• Build and support Excel-based tools and reporting, such as cash flow projections, in coordination with reporting and analytics resources.
• Protect confidential financial, payroll, and employee data, and support system access reviews and IT (Information Technology) change management practices.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• No direct reports. Trains team members and coordinate the work of key users, testers, vendors, and consultants on assigned initiatives.

Hiring Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in business, information systems, accounting, construction management, or related field; equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience supporting or administering an ERP system, preferably in the construction industry. COINS experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of construction business processes, including job cost, procurement and subcontracts, change orders, billing, accounts payable, and payroll (including prevailing wage).
• Lean or continuous improvement training; formal certification (such as AGC CM-Lean) preferred.
• Demonstrated experience gathering requirements, testing (including user acceptance testing), and implementing system changes and upgrades.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; experience with report writing, SQL, or BI tools a plus.
• Proven ability to write clear process documentation and to develop and deliver training to audiences with varied technical skill.
• Strong facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and influence without direct authority.
• Strong project management and organizational skills; proven ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through to completion in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated discretion in handling confidential financial and employee information.
