Assistant Controller

Compensation $150k - $165k + 10% annual bonus OVERVIEW The Assistant Controller is a key leader within the accounting function, responsible for driving accurate, timely, and scalable financial operations across a complex, multi-entity organization. This role partners closely with senior accounting leadership to ensure the integrity of financial reporting, strengthen internal controls, and support continued business growth. This position leads the close process, oversees technical accounting areas, and plays a critical role in building and developing a high-performing team. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Lead monthly and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely GAAP-compliant financial statements Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger and account reconciliations Review and ensure timely completion of balance sheet reconciliations, identifying and resolving variances Maintain data integrity through the design and execution of strong internal controls Manage lease accounting, including related assets, liabilities, and required reporting Support growth initiatives, including acquisitions and integration of new entities Lead the annual external audit process and serve as the primary liaison with auditors Drive system implementations and enhancements, including data migration and process standardization Partner cross-functionally to improve processes, reporting, and operational visibility Develop and refine accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls Operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with competing priorities Lead, mentor, and develop accounting team members QUALIFICATIONS 5–10 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and full-cycle financial statement preparation Hands-on experience with lease accounting required Experience in multi-entity environments; exposure to high-growth or acquisition-driven organizations is preferred Experience supporting or leading ERP/system implementations or upgrades Proficiency with ERP systems; exposure to modern, cloud-based platforms preferred Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA and/or MBA preferred Strong analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy KEY ATTRIBUTES FOR SUCCESS Hands-on leadership style with strong ownership mentality Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality Proactive problem-solver with a continuous improvement mindset Strong communication and collaboration skills across all levels Ability to navigate complexity within a multi-entity environment Proven ability to prioritize effectively and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting Demonstrated success building and developing high-performing teams #J-18808-Ljbffr LHH
