Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Accountant in Irvington, NJ. This role is onsite 4+ days per week. Summary: Our client, a well-established and growing manufacturing company in Central New Jersey, is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join their team on a contract-to-hire basis. This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with finance leadership in a highly visible role supporting corporate accounting, fixed assets, reconciliations, and month-end close activities. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform weekly and monthly bank reconciliations
- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and month-end close activities
- Manage fixed asset accounting, capitalization, and CIP tracking
- Process and review employee expense reports
- Support project accounting and maintain project records
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate variances
- Assist with consolidated financial reporting and account analysis
- Partner with Accounts Payable and other departments to resolve outstanding items
- Analyze financial results and explain significant account fluctuations
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- 5+ years of accounting experience
- ERP experience required (Dynamics 365 preferred)
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, accruals, and month-end close
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Experience with fixed assets and project accounting preferred
