SUMMARY & OBJECTIVE

This director position is responsible for the sales of plastic resins products in the automotive segment, OEM/Tier 1 account penetration and senior/executive level customer relationship development. This position will have 6 direct reports.

• Manage assigned accounts.
• Develop and increase sales revenue and profit to meet assigned targets.
• Initiate and maintain high level relationships with end-users and/or targeted customers with technical knowledge, account strategies, planning and administrative responsibilities to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
• Develop new customers, define potential sales targets, close new opportunities.
• Act as a resource to customers in application development opportunities and proposals.
• Mentor and coach other sales team members to increase overall team effectiveness.
• Keep informed of new products, services, market trends, and other general information of interest to customers.
• Check on competitive activity and develop new methods of attaining targeted customers.
• Troubleshoot problems regarding products provided (with Technical Team)
• Answer questions from customers and handle complaints.
• Perform other job-related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.
• Demonstrate knowledge of and supports mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior. 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

This position does have supervisory responsibilities and requires supervision of sales team and collaboration with colleagues in automotive division.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Chemical Engineering, Management or equivalent number of experience
• Must have 15+ years of experience in plastic resin sales and in the automotive industry
• Demonstrated sales performance and profitable growth in the automotive space
• Hold valid driver’s license for business trips
• Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook
• Professional sales training or certification a plus   
• Experience with polycarbonates, thermoplastics, ABS,  engineered resins, polyolefins, injection molding, Polyethylene, Polypropylene, HDPE, LLDPE, LDPE, and / or polymers would be a plus. 

TRAVEL

Approximately 50% of overnight travel may be expected. Travel is primarily out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.
