You will turn complex financial workflows into clear, accessible experiences, guide work from discovery through delivery, and raise the bar for craft across the product ecosystem.Your work will help millions of Schwab clients manage their financial lives with greater clarity and confidence. You will influence highly visible experiences used by retail clients and advisors, learn alongside an engaged design community, and help define what excellent trading experiences look like.Your responsibilities include:Leading product design from early discovery through launch and iteration, turning client needs, business goals, and data into thoughtful solutionsDesigning cohesive interactions for responsive web and native mobile experiences, with careful attention to layout, typography, color, motion, and user interaction with the systemSimplifying data-intensive trading workflows without losing the power and precision experienced investors expectUsing and evolving the Schwab design system, creating consistent, scalable patterns and componentsPartnering with product managers, software developers, researchers, content strategists, accessibility specialists, and business partners in an Agile environmentFacilitating problem framing and ideation, communicating a clear design point of view, and using rationale and storytelling to move decisions forwardLeading cross-disciplinary UX efforts, identifying risks early, and helping teams find practical paths through ambiguityChampioning accessible, inclusive, and high-quality experiences at every stageYour approach includes:Getting to know client motivations, their goals, and the moments where complexity gets in their wayBalancing progress with craft, learning through iteration rather than waiting for perfectionBuilding trust by setting clear expectations, inviting feedback, and adapting when new information arrivesSupporting teammates while maintaining strong standards for quality, consistency, and follow-throughUsing various communication techniques to showcase work and persuade through rationale and storytellingFocusing on solutions while partnering across disciplines to keep projects moving forwardLeveraging AI tools to augment and accelerate the UX processOn your resume, please include a link to a digital portfolio of your relevant work; make sure to include any passwords required. We are especially interested in the problem you were solving, the role you played, the decisions you made, and the impact of the work.Required qualifications include:6+ years of product design experience with digital products, supported by an online portfolio that shows your process and design thinking1+ year experience with touch-based mobile interfacesExperience designing data-intensive applications, a background in financial services and ideally a knowledge of brokerage platformsDeep knowledge of user-centered design, including research, flows, wireframes, interaction design, visual design, prototyping, and content specificationsExperience running design sessions with cross-functional teamsExperience designing accessible solutions and participating in accessibility testingExperience collaborating in multidisciplinary Agile teams and facilitating cross-functional design sessionsFluency with Figma and modern design systemsExperience effectively integrating AI tools such as Copilot, Figma Make, MCPs, Vercel, or similar technologies into the design process to improve efficiency, deepen insights, and enhance design outcomesPreferred qualifications include:Strong communication, relationship-building, and self-management skills, including the ability to guide complex work with substantial ownershipIn addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
