Job Title

Level II Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical Float

Location

New York, NY

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Rotating Shifts (Days, Evenings, and Nights) | Every Other Weekend | Holidays, On-Call, Callback, and Charge duties per unit needs | No straight shift schedules

Key Responsibilities

• Provide competent patient care in a Medical Surgical float capacity based on established clinical standards
• Assume charge nurse responsibilities as directed by unit needs
• Serve as a preceptor for new or less experienced nursing staff
• Participate in committee membership and contribute to unit-level initiatives
• Incorporate evidence-based practice and research into daily clinical care
• Uphold service excellence and professional development standards under the direction of the Nurse Manager

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – New York State license required
• Minimum of two (2) years of RN experience
• Telemetry experience required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification – American Heart Association (AHA) only

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior float pool or multi-unit nursing experience
• Experience in a charge nurse or preceptor role
