Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Permitting Coordinator for a direct hire opportunity in DeLand, FL. This role is ideal for a highly organized permitting professional with Florida residential construction experience who enjoys keeping projects moving, managing details, and working closely with municipalities, inspectors, contractors, and internal construction teams. The Permitting Coordinator will support residential construction projects across Volusia County and surrounding jurisdictions by preparing, submitting, tracking, and closing out permits. This position plays a key role in helping construction schedules stay on track by ensuring permit status, documentation, inspections, and jurisdiction requirements are handled accurately and on time. Key Responsibilities Prepare, submit, and track residential building permits across Volusia County and surrounding municipalities. Manage jurisdiction-specific permitting portals, including fee payments, Notices of Commencement, resubmittals, and responses to plan review comments. Maintain accurate permit status logs to support construction scheduling and project coordination. Monitor outstanding permit items, identify delays, and elevate issues to the appropriate construction team members. Coordinate permit-related inspections with field staff, reviewers, inspectors, contractors, and internal teams. Assemble Certificates of Occupancy, permit closeout documentation, and complete project records for compliance and audit readiness. Compensation and Benefits Direct hire opportunity. Salary range: $55,000 to $65,000 per year. Location: DeLand, FL. Required Qualifications and Skills Manage residential permitting activities across multiple Florida jurisdictions. Maintain accurate permit tracking, documentation, inspection coordination, and project file records. Support construction schedules by proactively identifying and resolving permitting delays. 2+ years of residential permitting experience in Florida. Working knowledge of Florida Building Code submittal requirements. Hands-on experience with municipal permitting portals such as Accela, iMS, or similar systems. Strong document-control skills with the ability to maintain accurate and complete project records. Excellent organizational, follow-up, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects, jurisdictions, deadlines, and permit requirements simultaneously. Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively with municipalities, inspectors, contractors, and construction teams. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting federally funded construction or housing programs. Familiarity with permitting processes in Volusia County and surrounding municipalities. Experience assembling Certificates of Occupancy and permit closeout packages. Strong understanding of audit-ready documentation standards for construction project files.
