Assistant Controller

Location: Plymouth Meeting, PA Area (Hybrid) Schedule: Approximately 4 days onsite / 1 day remote Compensation: Up to $130,000 base salary + 5% bonus About the Opportunity LHH is partnering with a growing North American construction and construction & infrastructure organization to identify an Assistant Controller. The local operation, located near Conshohocken, PA, continues to expand through strategic acquisitions and organic growth, creating an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional looking to make a meaningful impact. This position offers high visibility within the finance organization and the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership while supporting a thriving project-based business. Ideal candidates will have experience in construction accounting, work-in-progress (WIP) reporting, and cost accounting. Position Summary This role will serve as a key member of the accounting team, supporting financial reporting, job costing, project accounting, and month-end close activities. Reporting to senior finance leadership, the successful candidate will provide critical financial insights that support business operations and strategic decision-making. Key Responsibilities Lead and support month-end and year-end close activities Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting packages Manage and analyze Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules Perform cost accounting and job cost analysis Support construction and project accounting activities Review invoices, perform transaction analysis, and identify trends Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis Prepare audit schedules and support internal and external audits Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls Collaborate with operations and project leaders to improve financial performance Support continuous improvement initiatives within accounting and reporting processes Supervise and mentor one Accounting Assistant Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 5+ years of progressive accounting experience Construction accounting experience required Strong knowledge of WIP reporting and job costing Experience with month-end close and financial statement preparation Understanding of percentage-of-completion accounting is highly preferred Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP/accounting systems Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, project-driven environment Why Consider This Opportunity?
