Assistant/Associate Professor - Clinical Psychologist This is a faculty position within the Division of Pediatric Psychology and largely supports the OHSU Doernbecher Gender Clinic serving transgender and gender diverse youth. The position will also involve work with infants and children with differences in sexual development and their families as part of the Doernbecher Sex Development Program and for children and adolescents with reproductive health needs with the Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology Program. The position is under the administration of the Director of the Institute on Development and Disability (IDD) and Department of Pediatrics. The duties of this position are in support of the missions, goals, and objectives of OHSU and the IDD, inclusive of teaching, research, and service. This position is designated as a Clinical Psychologist who will work collaboratively with as well as in conjunction with clinical providers across the clinical areas of Pediatric Endocrinology, Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine, Urology, and Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology. This position will provide opportunities for delivering clinical care to patients across the state through telehealth and outreach clinics. In addition to these primary clinical responsibilities, there will be collaboration across other disciplines within the OHSU Transgender Health Program, including the Division of Plastics & Reconstructive Surgery, the Department of Urology, the Department of Family Medicine, the Department of Pediatrics - Endocrinology Division, and the Department of OB/GYN. The goals of the Transgender Health Program are to provide leadership in healthcare for the transgender community by ensuring that OHSU is an accessible, welcoming, and culturally responsive setting for patients, employees, and visitors, as well as working in partnership with other stakeholders at OHSU and the greater Oregon community by addressing needs in program development, clinical alignment across disciplines, best practices in clinical service delivery, training/education for employees, coordination/navigation for patients, and community engagement. Clinical Service/Clinical Education (80%) The primary clinical focus for the person in this position will be to provide psychological assessment, treatment, and integrated care to youth receiving care in the Doernbecher Gender Clinic, the Doernbecher Sex Development Program, and the Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology Program. In addition, the incumbent will also participate in the clinical education of students, interns, residents, and fellows rotating through these clinics. Research (% dependent on extramural funding) The person in this position will be expected to contribute to scholarship, however, is not expected to be an independent investigator and generate extramural funding. The candidate will be expected to participate in research through professional publications and presentations. Effort devoted to research can be negotiated in the event that the incumbent either brings extramural funding to the position or obtains extramural funding after obtaining the position. Administration (15%) The person in this position will serve as a clinical psychologist. As such, the candidate will be allotted 15% time for administrative activities including documentation, case management, and other non-billable services. Professional/Academic Activities (5%) The person in this position participates in other activities appropriate to the Doernbecher Gender Clinic and to the Division of Pediatric Psychology, and consistent with the mission and goals of the IDD and OHSU. Such activities include, but are not limited to, consultation and technical assistance to community agencies and providers, collaborations with other partners, serving on agency and university committees, and participation in departmental meetings and in-service presentations. Required Qualifications Research doctorate in Psychology with specialization in child psychology and preferably pediatric psychology. must have a background working with transgender and gender diverse youth Demonstrated excellence in research, clinical care, and a history of extramural funded research.
