Clerical Customer Service Clerk

Location:  Santa Cruz CA Temp
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
Pay rate $21 an hour

Position Summary

The Copy Center Associate supports the daily operations of the school Copy Center by providing exceptional customer service and producing high-quality print and copy services for campus customers. This role involves operating and maintaining production printing equipment, processing print requests, pricing orders, and ensuring timely and accurate completion of jobs.

Candidates with prior copy center, print shop, or production printing experience are highly encouraged to apply. Strong operational and customer service skills are essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain a variety of digital and analog print and copy equipment, including high-speed production printers.
• Process, edit, reproduce, and prepare customer print jobs from hard-copy and electronic files.
• Receive and fulfill print requests submitted through campus network systems and portable media.
• Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with printing needs, job specifications, timelines, and pricing.
• Accurately price, track, and process orders.
• Perform record-keeping and administrative tasks related to print production and customer transactions.
• Monitor equipment performance and report maintenance or operational issues as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient production environment.
• Collaborate with supervisors and team members to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.

Qualifications

Preferred

• Experience working in a copy center, print shop, reprographics facility, or similar production printing environment.
• Experience operating high-volume printing and finishing equipment.

Required

• Strong customer service skills and a positive, professional attitude.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn print production software and systems.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and move materials and paper supplies as needed.
• Ability to work around production printing equipment in an operational environment.
