Shipping and Receiving ClerkThe Shipping and Receiving Clerk loads and unloads merchandise, prepares and fulfills orders, and ensures accurate, efficient movement of materials throughout the warehouse. This role operates forklifts and other material handling equipment, uses power tools to cut and prepare materials, and maintains a clean, safe, and organized work area while following all safety procedures.ResponsibilitiesLoad and unload merchandise from trucks and containers using forklifts and other material handling equipment.Fulfill customer orders using packing slips, including cutting material to specified lengths with appropriate tools.Operate power tools such as miter saws, drill presses, and battery-operated tools to prepare materials for shipment.Inspect and verify incoming shipments against documentation to confirm accuracy, quantity, and quality.Inspect and verify outgoing shipments to ensure correct items, quantities, and packaging are prepared for delivery.Organize, label, and store merchandise in the warehouse to maintain an orderly and efficient layout.Perform order picking and kitting activities to assemble orders accurately and on time.Use RF scanners or similar devices to track inventory movement and maintain accurate stock records.Support general production and assembly tasks as needed to meet operational demands.Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment by following housekeeping standards.Follow all safety regulations, procedures, and company policies while operating equipment and performing daily tasks.Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to coordinate shipping, receiving, and inventory activities.Essential SkillsExperience in shipping and receiving operations, including handling incoming and outgoing shipments.Proficiency in material handling, including loading and unloading trucks and containers.Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely.Experience with order picking and kitting to fulfill customer orders accurately.Ability to read and follow packing slips and other shipping documentation.Skill in operating power tools such as miter saws, drill presses, and battery-operated tools.Experience in general labor, general production, and assembly tasks in a warehouse or shop environment.Familiarity with using RF scanners or similar devices for inventory tracking.Ability to organize and store merchandise efficiently in a warehouse setting.Commitment to following safety regulations and maintaining a safe work environment.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.Additional Skills & QualificationsPrior experience in inventory control or warehouse operations.Comfort working in a smaller shop environment with a lively atmosphere.Ability to adapt to flexible working hours within a first-shift schedule.Strong teamwork and communication skills to coordinate with colleagues.Reliability and punctuality to support consistent first-shift operations.Why Work Here?You will join a fast-paced yet supportive environment that offers on-the-job training, allowing you to build and strengthen your skills while you work.
