Quality Control Assistant Manager

Summary Description:
\nThe Quality Assistant Manager in the foundry environment will oversee the quality control processes for all castings produced, ensuring they meet both internal and external standards for quality, safety, and compliance. The role is responsible for supervising the quality control team, ensuring the effective execution of inspection and testing processes, and collaborating with production and engineering teams to resolve any quality-related issues.

\nEssential Functions
\nSupervise and lead the quality control team to ensure all casting products meet established specifications, standards, and customer requirements.
\nConduct regular inspections and audits of the foundry processes, materials, and final products to verify adherence to quality standards.
\nImplement and maintain quality control procedures and documentation, including inspection reports, test records, and corrective action plans.
\nOversee the preparation and execution of various quality tests, such as visual inspections, dimensional checks, hardness tests, X-ray, and other nondestructive testing (NDT) methods.
\nCoordinate with the production team to address any quality concerns, ensuring prompt resolution and continuous improvement.
\nAnalyze quality data and trends to identify root causes of defects and implement corrective and preventive actions to minimize recurrence.
\nEnsure compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and company policies during all quality control processes.
\nProvide training and mentorship to quality inspectors and other team members to enhance skills and knowledge in quality procedures and standards.
\nReview and approve inspection reports, ensuring accuracy and thorough documentation.
\nPrepare and present regular quality performance reports to management, identifying potential areas for improvement.
\nAssist in the development and improvement of foundry processes, contributing to overall efficiency and product quality.
\nCoordinate with suppliers to ensure that raw materials meet quality standards and specifications before they enter the production process.
\nRequired Education and Experience:
\nscience/engineering or related discipline
\n2+ years of experience in a foundry or industrial facility
\nProficiency with MS Office and experience using quality control software or enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
\n \nPreferred Qualifications:
\nCertification in quality control or quality management (e.g., CQE, Six Sigma).
\nExperience with castings in industries such as automotive, aerospace, or heavy machinery.
\nWorking Conditions/Physical Conditions:
\nAbility to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, noise, and heavy machinery.
