(WASHA), 1401 Pennsylvania Ave NW, 20004 As a Pastry Cook, you will be responsible for creating a wide range of pastries and desserts that meet the highest culinary standards. You will collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure consistent quality and presentation. Your role includes maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment, managing inventory, and contributing to menu development. Key Accountabilities Create visually appealing and tasty pastries for guests. Maintain kitchen cleanliness; follow local hygiene laws. Manage supplies and equipment, minimizing waste. Report unsafe equipment or low supplies to supervisors. Assist with washing up and other kitchen duties as needed. Handle guest inquiries and provide service assistance. Wear uniform with pride and comply with safety procedures. Take on ad‑hoc duties as required. Key Skills & Experiences Physical stamina – able to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs (23 kg). Strong reading, writing, and basic mathematics skills. Flexibility – willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Compliance – meet local food‑handling laws and the minimum age requirement; fluent in the local language. Excellent communication – warm, welcoming, and easy to talk to. Requirements Degree or certificate in culinary arts. Minimum 3 years’ experience as a culinary professional. Proficiency in the local language(s). Compensation & Benefits Hourly pay rate: $26.79 (starting rate for Washington, DC). Salary may vary based on experience, performance, and other factors.
