We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in NeuroSurgery for our Medical Surgical Unit. This position involves providing exceptional patient care with a focus on individuals experiencing neurological conditions and procedures.

Position Information

• Role: RN
• Specialty: Med Surg / Neuroscience
• Shift: Nights (7 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36 or 48
• Weekend Hours: Rotating
• Call Requirements: None

Unit Information

• Patient Ratios: 1:5-6
• Equipment: FIT test will be required on-site
• EMR: EPIC

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse will utilize the nursing process to provide comprehensive patient care in a Neurosurgical unit. Responsibilities include:

• Delivering patient-centered care for individuals with strokes, seizures, multiple sclerosis (MS), and other neurological diagnoses.
• Maintaining professional accountability for the provision of patient care.
• Evaluating the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers.
• Coordinating patient care in collaboration with other departments.
• Upholding patient rights and safeguarding the confidentiality of patient information.

Qualifications

• Required Certifications: BLS and NIHSS
• Experience: Minimum 1 year of inpatient acute care experience in Med Surg and Neuro.
• Preferred Experience: Charge experience is helpful but not required.
• Personality Fit: A team player who is patient-focused.

Additional Information

• Contract Duration: 13 - 26 weeks
• Requested Time Off: Up to 5 days in each 13-week period can be automatically approved.
• Weekend Requirement: Expected to work every other full weekend (Saturday and Sunday).
• Holiday Expectation: Candidates should be prepared to work at least one of the major winter holidays (e.g., Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's Day).
