POSITION SPECIFICS ​

The Office of General Counsel, Penn State Health , provides legal counsel and representation to Penn State Health (PSH) and its affiliates on a broad array of healthcare related matters, with duties to include:

• Research the law and provide legal advice, consultation, and representation to PSH and its affiliates
• Advise on, negotiate, draft, edit, review, and execute legal documents including contracts, agreements, memoranda, correspondence, responses, and notices
• Evaluate claim merit before litigation, and assist outside counsel during litigation
• Work with General Counsel to define strategies for defending Penn State Health, or for filing actions on behalf of Penn State Health
• Advise when matters require outside counsel retention, and retain and supervise outside counsel
• Assist in developing institutional policies, procedures, and programs
• Ensure compliance with laws and regulations
• Represent the Office of General Counsel on system-wide committees
• Keep abreast of changes in the law; review new statutes, regulations, and opinions

MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

Juris Doctor (JD) 3+ years of relevant experience Required Certifications: Licensed Attorney - Pennsylvania Board of Law Examiners

SALARY & BENEFITS

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $150,204.00 - $232,776.00.

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR).
