About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chief Academics and Innovation Officer (CAIO) to lead the development and scaling of high-quality educational offerings that significantly improve learning outcomes. The successful candidate will be responsible for the vision, design, and evolution of the company's portfolio, ensuring that all products and programs are evidence-based, scalable, and affordable. This role requires a seasoned leader with a minimum of 10 years' experience in education, edtech, or product leadership, and a proven track record of designing and scaling initiatives that have measurably enhanced educational outcomes, particularly in the African context. The CAIO will also be tasked with integrating AI and emerging technologies into the company's offerings, and must have a strong grounding in learning science and the ability to make data-informed decisions. As the chief architect of the company's educational and technological innovations, the CAIO will build and lead a multidisciplinary team of academics, digital and data specialists, and ensure that the company's partnerships are aligned with its mission. The ideal candidate will be an inspiring leader, a great team builder, and a brilliant systems thinker, with a deep understanding of how educational systems change and a commitment to using evidence and data to drive decision-making. They should be adept at working with technology, particularly AI, and be able to distinguish between genuine improvements and hype. The role also involves overseeing the design and adoption of impact measurement frameworks, building research collaborations, and strengthening the company's position as a thought leader in the education sector.
