Project Manager - Pool Construction

Robert Half is assisting a successful Outdoor Design company in hiring a Project Manager in the Central Islip area. We are looking for someone with Construction Project Management experience preferably in Residential and Commercial projects-- outdoor design projects would be ideal (i.e., Pools, Hardscape, Landscaping).

Main Responsibilities:

• Create and manage comprehensive project timelines, budgets, and resource allocations
• Direct and coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and onsite crews to ensure quality standards and deadlines are met
• Act as the main client liaison, establishing expectations and providing consistent, proactive project updates
• Perform routine site inspections to monitor workmanship, safety requirements, and schedule progress
• Review, approve, and track material purchases, change orders, and vendor invoices
• Proactively identify and address project challenges, delays, or conflicts to prevent escalation
• Ensure all project activities comply with OSHA regulations, local building codes, and internal safety policies
• Lead and support Site Supervisors and field personnel through clear direction and accountability
• Maintain thorough and accurate project records, including daily reports, photos, permits, and closeout documentation

Required:

• Project management experience within pool construction, landscaping, general contracting, or similar
• OSHA 30 certified (can obtain it within 90 days)
• Proven ability to oversee multiple projects at the same time
• Strong leadership and team management capabilities
• Excellent communication skills with a strong client‑service focus

Preferred:

• Familiarity with local permitting processes and municipal inspections
• Working knowledge of plumbing and electrical
