Clear Flour Bakery is a small, family owned and operated bakery specializing in the authentic breads and pastries of Italy, France and Germany since 1982. Located on a neighborhood street in Brookline, it was the first bakery to introduce artisan bread baking to the Boston area. Our award-winning bread and pastry is made from scratch daily by a highly skilled staff committed to preserving the art and craft of traditional baking. We pride ourselves on providing friendly, knowledgeable customer service and connecting our community to good food and the people who make it.
We are not actively hiring in the front of house of the bakery, but we always accept applications and will reach out if anything opens up!
Job Description
The ideal candidate:
- likes working collaboratively
- is passionate about food and hospitality
- enjoys active work / working on their feet
- likes to keep busy and thrives in a fast-paced environment
- is good to work weekends and holidays
In this job, you will:
- provide exemplary hospitality to our customers (this position is almost entirely a customer-facing position)
- learn and describe a huge selection of breads and pastries to customers, including how they're made, when they're available, and what they taste like
- maintain a clean and tidy workspace
- maintain visually-pleasing displays and well-organized backstock
Requirements & necessary skills:
- clear and respectful communication skills
- top-notch people skills
- excellent listening, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- ability to be flexible and adapt in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
- ability to lift 50+ pounds
- ability to be on your feet 8 hours/day
- morning hours and weekend availability
Preferred:
- prior food/customer service experience
- understanding of food safety or ServSafe certification
