Role Description The Paint Estimator is a full-time hybrid role based in Scottsdale, AZ, with some flexibility for work-from-home tasks such as estimating, documentation, and client communication. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing project plans and specifications, performing site visits, measuring surfaces, and preparing accurate material and labor estimates for painting, wallcoverings, custom graphics, and murals. The role involves coordinating with project managers, vendors, and clients to clarify scope, obtain pricing, and ensure estimates reflect project requirements and timelines. The Paint Estimator will create detailed proposals, track bid status, assist with budgeting, and support project handoff to operations. This position also entails maintaining cost databases, updating pricing based on market conditions, and contributing to continuous improvement of estimating processes and tools. Qualifications Experience with commercial painting and wallcovering estimation, including familiarity with retail and hospitality projects. Strong skills in reading blueprints, project specifications, and construction documents. Proficiency with measuring tools and basic math for calculating areas, quantities, and material requirements. Comfort with using estimating or project management software, spreadsheets, and digital tools. Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with clients, vendors, and internal project teams. Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines. General knowledge of painting products, wallcovering materials, surface preparation, and application methods. Ability to work in a hybrid environment, including field site visits in the Scottsdale, AZ area and office/home-based tasks. Previous experience in construction estimating, painting contracting, or a related field is preferred.
