Transportation EstimatorWilliam Charles Electric, a MasTec Company, is hiring for a Transportation Estimator specializing in electrical services in the DOT, municipal, and industrial sector to include street lighting, traffic signals, ITS, substations, distribution, and Port of Entry upgrades. The Estimator will work with a team to complete the due diligence necessary to estimate the cost of work associated with electrical construction projects. The Estimator will also oversee the client bid submittal process. This position will be based in our Scottsdale, AZ office. Join one of the largest construction firms in the country (Engineering News-Record [ENR]: #1 in Power, #16 Top 50 Domestic Heavy Contractors, #13 Transportation Contractor).Responsibilities:Prepare accurate quantity surveys and estimates for assigned projectsComplete pre-construction survey and other preliminary documentsPerform majority of quantity surveys and pricing estimatesComplete general conditionsPrepare vendor proposal comparison and estimate summary sheetsConduct plan reviewObtain applicable wage ratesCoordinate with others the completion of the proposalDevelop and complete project schedule templateReview and understand contract specifications, documents & drawings to perform takeoffs accuratelyCritically analyze each aspect of the estimate to ensure a competitive bidStay apprised of industry standard software including researching and reviewing new technologies to expedite the takeoff processOccasional project site visits and pre-bid meeting attendanceSpecial projects as necessaryAssist with other estimating duties as assignedQualifications:Electrical experience in the above listed areas or Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Prior experience in renewable construction industry preferred. Minimum of 2 years prior estimating experience preferred. Experience with estimating software. B2W preferred. Experience with Microsoft suite of software.
