Job Overview General Litigation Attorney – Location: Rochester, NY. Work arrangement: Hybrid. Experience required: 25 years. Compensation: $120,000–$160,000 annually, commensurate with experience. A respected mid‑size firm seeks a General Litigation Attorney to join its Rochester office. The role offers direct client interaction, hands‑on responsibility, and mentorship for professional growth. Key Responsibilities Manage cases through all phases of litigation, from inception through resolution. Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery demands, and responses. Conduct legal research and develop case strategies. Take and defend depositions of parties, fact witnesses, and experts. Participate in mediations, arbitrations, settlement conferences, and court appearances. Collaborate with partners and clients to evaluate risk and develop litigation strategies. Prepare witnesses and experts for testimony. Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and insurance representatives. Maintain accurate case files, billing records, and litigation deadlines. Qualifications Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school. Active admission to the New York State Bar in good standing. 25 years of litigation experience. Experience in insurance defense, commercial litigation, labor and employment, premises liability, products liability, transportation, municipal law, or related practice areas is a plus. Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills. Excellent organizational and time‑management abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
