Hospitalist Physician

We are seeking a full-time Hospitalist Physician to join a collaborative and mission-driven medical staff. This position is dedicated to delivering exceptional, compassionate, patient-centered care to a rural population. The Hospitalist Physician will provide direct medical care for hospitalized patients including admissions, daily rounding, and discharges. They will evaluate, diagnose, and manage a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions. This role involves delivering evidence-based, patient-centered care. Collaboration with specialists, primary care providers, nurses, respiratory therapists, and ancillary services is essential. Coordination of patient care plans and ensuring smooth transitions of care will be necessary. The Hospitalist will order, interpret, and act on laboratory tests, imaging, and diagnostic studies. Documentation of all patient encounters, care plans, and outcomes must be thorough and timely in the EMR. They will respond to medical emergencies including codes and rapid response situations. Participation in clinical rounds and interdisciplinary meetings is required, along with educating patients and families regarding diagnoses and treatment plans. The Hospitalist will also participate in hospital committees, quality improvement initiatives, and performance evaluations. Compliance with policies, regulatory standards, and medical ethics is expected. No procedures will be required for this position. Specialty backup will be available including surgeons, respiratory therapy, and emergency medicine physicians.
