Whittier Pediatric Group is seeking a compassionate, energetic, and professional Full-Time Medical Assistant to join our dedicated pediatric team in Whittier, CA !

Are you someone who loves working with children and wants to make a meaningful impact on family healthcare? In this role, you will work hand-in-hand with our medical doctors and nurse practitioners to provide high-quality care to infants, children, and adolescents. Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish or English/Mandarin Chinese) is highly helpful and preferred to best serve our diverse community.

What You Will Do (Responsibilities):

• Patient Intake & Vitals: Greet young patients and their families, room patients, and accurately measure height, weight, blood pressure, head size. On some patients, perform hearing and vision screens.
• Clinical Support: Prepare examination rooms and assist providers with routine physicals, sick and follow up visits, and minor clinical procedures.
• Immunizations & Lab Work: Administer pediatric vaccinations, perform basic point-of-care laboratory tests (e.g., hematocrit and urine dip) and collect specimens safely.
• Administrative Operations: Maintain precise electronic health records (EHR), handle phone inquiries from parents, schedule appointments, and manage prescription refills under provider guidance.

What We Are Looking For (Qualifications):

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program is required.
• Certification: Active Medical Assistant Certification (CMA or RMA) and current CPR/BLS certification are preferred.
• Experience: Prior experience in a pediatric setting is highly desirable, but a strong externship performance will be considered.
• Skills: Excellent communication, strong organizational abilities, a highly collaborative attitude, and a warm, child-friendly demeanor. Bilingual skills in Spanish or Mandarin Chinese are a major asset.
