Job Title Travel RN – Cardiovascular Progressive Care (CVPC / Stepdown) Location Asheville, North Carolina Schedule / Job Type Contract | Travel | Days | 13-Week Assignment | Full-Time | Onsite | Shift: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM | Weekend requirement: minimum 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period; holiday flexibility required Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care on a 40-bed cardiac surgery stepdown unit serving a primary population of CV surgery and vascular surgery patients, including open heart surgery, thoracic lung surgery, esophagogastrectomy, AAA repair, fem-pop bypass, and carotid endarterectomy Manage overflow medical cardiology patients presenting with heart failure, DKA, chest pain, sepsis, heart block, and related diagnoses Perform and oversee epidural management, chest tube management, tube feedings, and IV Glucommander protocols Administer and monitor cardiac drip management including phenylephrine, dobutamine, dopamine, milrinone, cardizem, amiodarone, insulin, heparin, nitroglycerin, and ketamine Operate unit equipment including Baxter IV pumps and CADD epidural pumps; document care using Cerner EMR Float as needed to stepdown units (1:5 ratio), medical-surgical units (1:6–7 ratio), or ER inpatient holding area (1:6 ratio) Required Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license Minimum 2 years of RN experience Stepdown experience required Telemetry experience required Current ACLS and BLS certifications Preferred Experience / Skills Prior experience within the past year with CV surgery and vascular surgery patient populations, including open heart surgery, TAVR, lobectomy, AAA repair, and fem-pop bypass CVICU experience Why Join Us Work in a high-acuity, fast-paced cardiovascular stepdown environment with a collaborative team of approximately 100 staff members Gain specialized experience with a diverse cardiac and vascular surgical patient population in a well-resourced unit Concentric Healthcare Staffing Job ID 771073.
