Locums Maternal Fetal Medicine Physician

We are seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) Physician for locum tenens coverage in Richmond, Virginia. This role focuses on the management of high-risk pregnancies in both outpatient and inpatient settings, supporting a busy and well-established MFM practice.

Average Scheduled Patients per Day: 27

High-Risk Pregnancy Volume: Approximately 95%

Nursery Level:Level III

Trauma Designation:N/A

EMR: Epic, Viewpoint

Key Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive care for high-risk obstetric patients in office and inpatient settings

Perform consultations, diagnostic evaluations, and ongoing management of complex maternal and fetal conditions

Collaborate closely with OB/GYNs, neonatology, nursing, and ancillary teams

Participate in care planning for patients with maternal or fetal comorbidities

Ensure accurate and timely documentation in the EMR

Required Skills & Procedures

Amniocentesis

Chorionic Villus Sampling (CVS)

Cerclage (preferred)

Management of high-risk conditions including:

Pre-eclampsia and hypertension

Multiple gestations

Fetal growth restriction

Chromosomal, congenital, and genetic abnormalities

Pre-term labor

Thrombophilia

Birth defects and complex maternal/fetal comorbidities

Experience with vaginal and cesarean deliveries in high-risk settings

Qualifications

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Maternal Fetal Medicine

Completion of an ACGME-accredited MFM fellowship

Active Virginia medical license

BLS certification

AIUM certification
