Embark on a rewarding journey supporting middle school students as a Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time, onsite opportunity is based in a vibrant educational setting, focusing on the Learning Resource Center (LRC). You will collaborate with two dedicated LRC teachers to deliver tailored instruction and meaningful interventions for grades 6 through 8.

As part of a close-knit and supportive team, you’ll manage a caseload of approximately 40 students, developing individualized education programs and working directly with learners to foster their growth and success.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Active Washington State Special Education teaching license or willingness to obtain one
• Ability or willingness to be fingerprinted through OSPI
• Previous experience in special education or middle school settings preferred
• Strong grasp of IEP processes, instructional adaptations, and case management
• Collaborative nature with exceptional communication and organizational skills
• Passion for empowering students with diverse learning needs

Role Expectations:

• Provide individualized and small-group instruction aligned with IEP goals
• Collaborate with two fellow LRC teachers and other staff in a middle school environment
• Monitor, track, and report on student progress
• Create inclusive, supportive classroom structures fostering growth for every learner
• Maintain accurate documentation and participate in IEP meetings
• Stay current with best practices and compliance standards in special education

This contract position runs from September 9, 2026 through June 16, 2027, with daily hours totaling 7.5 (including a .5 hour unpaid lunch break). All work is performed onsite, encouraging strong connections with students and colleagues alike.
