Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher supporting middle school students for the 2026-2027 academic year. In this onsite position, you’ll join a passionate team of educators dedicated to helping students thrive in a Learning Resource Center (LRC) environment. As part of a collaborative group with two fellow LRC teachers, you’ll work with a caseload of approximately 40 students across grades 6, 7, and 8, providing tailored academic and social-emotional guidance.

Key Qualifications:

• Active Washington Special Education teaching certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Willingness to complete fingerprinting through OSPI if not already done
• Experience working with middle school students and diverse learners preferred
• Strong collaboration skills to partner with colleagues, families, and support staff
• Ability to adapt instruction to meet individual student needs in both academic and behavioral domains

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for each student on the caseload
• Provide direct instruction and targeted interventions in small group or one-on-one settings
• Monitor and document student progress, adjusting strategies as needed to promote growth
• Communicate regularly with families, general education teachers, and support personnel
• Foster an inclusive classroom environment that celebrates each student’s strengths

This full-time contract position follows the school calendar—from early September through mid-June—with a schedule of 7.5 hours per day (including a half-hour, unpaid lunch). All responsibilities are fully onsite, allowing you to truly engage with your students and team.
