Project Manager

Summary Responsible for managing medium to large‑scale projects within an assigned functional area or across multiple entities. Takes ownership of the project lifecycle overall by guiding teams and staff, facilitating communication between stakeholders, and monitoring progress toward project goals. Ensures that the project is completed successfully and provides support to team members and stakeholders as they complete essential tasks. Essential Functions Develop comprehensive project plans, monitor, and manage projects from initiation through completion. Secure required resources and use formal processes and tools to manage resources, budgets, risks, and changes. Manage projects to ensure on‑time completion, within specifications, and within budget. Communicate regularly on project status with project stakeholders. Own project plans for medium to large‑scale projects. Provide guidance to project coordinators. Identify potential risks early, analyze the possible impact, and develop mitigation strategies. Education Bachelor’s Degree in a related field of study required, though experience in lieu of a degree acceptable. Experience Project management experience 2–3 years required. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Strong project management skills, including the ability to plan, organize, and execute projects effectively. Ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals across multiple disciplines and experiences. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders. Proficiency in project management software. Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities. Ability to adapt to a fast‑paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Project Management Responsibilities The Project Manager will work under the supervision of Dr. David Salat. Responsibilities include managing multiple clinical research studies, directly hiring and supervising all staff including Clinical Research Coordinators and Research Technicians, serving as the key liaison between the IRB, collaborating labs, site PIs, and all levels of study staff. The Manager will coordinate trial initiation, patient recruitment, expedite project approval and study start‑up time, develop and maintain standard operating procedures, develop advertising strategies to support recruitment activities, and oversee budget management and subcontracts with associated institutions. Lab Context The Brain Aging and Dementia (BAnD) Lab is part of the Martinos Center in the Charlestown Navy Yard. The lab’s research focuses on neuroimaging and combining imaging with behavioral and clinical variables to examine vascular contributions to brain aging and dementias. The study population is generally over the age of 50, including cognitively healthy adults, individuals with mild cognitive impairment, and those with Alzheimer’s or dementia.
