By joining our team, you are committing not only to your own professional development but also to contributing to the success and vision of our company.Position SummaryThe Human Resources Generalist serves as a key member of the Human Resources team, supporting Rocky Mountain Communities' mission by administering and coordinating a wide range of HR functions. This position is responsible for employee lifecycle activities including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, payroll administration, HRIS management, compliance, training coordination, and benefits support. The HR Generalist partners with employees, supervisors, and leadership to foster a positive workplace culture while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesHuman Resources OperationsServe as a primary point of contact for employee questions regarding HR policies, programs, benefits, and procedures.Administer daily HR operations and maintain accurate employee personnel records and documentation.Ensure compliance with applicable labor laws, company policies, and affordable housing industry requirements.Assist in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of HR processes and procedures.Prepare HR reports, metrics, and workforce data for leadership review.Talent Acquisition & OnboardingManage full-cycle recruitment activities including job postings, candidate screening, interview coordination, reference checks, and offer preparation.Partner with hiring managers to support workforce planning and staffing needs.Coordinate new hire onboarding and orientation to ensure a positive employee experience.Manage employee offboarding, exit interviews, and separation documentation.Employee RelationsProvide guidance and support to employees and supervisors on workplace issues, policy interpretation, and conflict resolution.Escalate complex employee relations matters to the Director of Human Resources as appropriate.Support employee engagement, recognition, and retention initiatives.Payroll & HRIS AdministrationProcess or coordinate biweekly payroll administration through ADP Workforce Now.Audit timekeeping records and resolve payroll discrepancies.Maintain employee data within ADP and ensure accuracy and integrity of records.Generate and analyze HR and payroll reports as needed.Support benefits administration, enrollment changes, and employee communications.Training & ComplianceCoordinate required compliance, safety, and professional development training.Manage employee access and records within the Learning Management System (LMS).Track training completion and maintain compliance documentation.Assist with audits and reporting requirements.Administrative SupportCoordinate HR meetings, interviews, training sessions, and other departmental activities.Support CEO calendarProvide Office Manager dutiesCoordinate All Staff Meetings & EventsMaintain employee awards programPrepare quarterly board meeting materialsSupport special projects and organizational initiatives.Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee and organizational information.QualificationsEducationBachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.ExperienceMinimum of 3-5 years of progressively responsible human resources experience.Experience supporting multiple HR functions including recruiting, payroll, employee relations, and compliance.Experience with ADP Workforce Now or a comparable HRIS/payroll platform preferred.Experience in nonprofit, affordable housing, property management, or community development organizations is a plus.Skills & AbilitiesStrong knowledge of HR laws and practices.Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Preferred CertificationsSHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe.Core CompetenciesIntegrity and ConfidentialityCustomer Service ExcellenceCommunication and Relationship BuildingProblem Solving and Critical ThinkingCollaboration and TeamworkAdaptability and InitiativeTime Management and AccountabilityWorking ConditionsOffice-based w/option to work remote 1 day per weekOccasional travel to propertiesDisclaimerPhysical Work Environment Employees must be able to meet the physical requirements of the classification and have mobility, balance, coordination, vision, hearing and dexterity levels appropriate to the functions performed.Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
