Press & Shear Operator- 3rd Shift

Pay rate: $24.43/hour 3rd shift: 10pm-6:30am OT as needed. Will start at 8pm often and will work some Saturdays Punch press and/or brake press experience Operate group of 8 to 10 units of machines to convert coil steel stock to sheet steel. Units consist of turnstile, coil car, coil reel with threader, leveler, roller coater, oiler, shear, power conveyor, and stacker. Determine and set speeds, position stops, roll pressure, edge trimmer width, shear stroke and other adjustments to properly feed and run coils. Work from prints, process orders, specifications and verbal instructions. Check finished pieces with various measuring instruments and appropriate gauges. Responsible for inspection of parts, SPC, TPM, teamwork, accuracy, inventory control duties as required, total quality, employee involvement, cost reductions, and training of new operators. Maintain necessary records. Move material as necessary in the performance of duties. Detect and report improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials and unusual conditions to proper supervision. Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition. Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations. Perform other duties as required or directed. Requires the use of shop mathematics, specifications, charts, tables, and blueprints. Use rules, squares, sheet metal gauges, micrometers, scales, verniers, calipers, depth gauges, and dial indicators.
