Field Service Engineer - San Antonio

Salary: $67,000 - 107,000 per year Requirements:

• Associates or bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline; or equivalent military training; or participation in the formal GE HealthCare Biomed/FE Services Internship or Military Externship program; or a high school diploma/GED plus 4 or more years of experience servicing electronic equipment.
• Experience using web-based applications and Microsoft Office tools.
• Willingness to work after hours or on a rotating on-call schedule, including weekends, when needed.
• A valid drivers license that is kept current.
• Ability to meet our standard background screening, post-offer drug testing, and any customer access or immunization requirements that may apply.
• Ability to support physical demands of the role, including lifting up to 35 lbs. and performing frequent bending, crouching, kneeling, twisting, climbing, and extended periods of sitting or standing.
• Good reach, neck mobility, hand and finger dexterity, and vision capabilities including color, close, distant, peripheral, and depth perception.
• Preferred: technical capability in anesthesia.

• We learn to perform accurate, on-time preventative maintenance, field modification instructions, and/or instrument service information tasks.
• We support more experienced field engineers with equipment installation.
• We assist with basic troubleshooting and service repairs on designated equipment.
• We communicate effectively with teammates, colleagues, and customers to drive resolution and strong follow-up.
• We recommend value-added services that help customers operate more efficiently.
• We maintain customer service logs, internal service records, repair-part orders, and cycle-time management in a timely manner.
• We use our escalation process and coordinate with regional and national support to implement corrective actions quickly.
• We represent our account community for key accounts.
• We engage commercial partners, identify sales opportunities, support contract renewals, and help promote revenue programs.
• We build trusted customer relationships and focus on service excellence and satisfaction.
• We stay informed about competitor activity and market trends.
• We work toward independently handling service calls within one year of employment.
