Make a meaningful impact in the lives of 5th-grade students by providing vital educational support as a Special Education Teacher in a vibrant resource room setting. This contract position spans the academic year, running through May 28, 2027, and offers consistent hours—Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, with the possibility of occasional IEP meetings extending beyond the school day. You'll work closely with a manageable caseload of around 35 students, advocating for their needs and fostering growth in a supportive school community.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid teaching license, with certification in Special Education
• Current IVP Fingerprint Card (required for school employment)
• Experience working with 5th-grade students or similar age group preferred
• Knowledge of resource room instruction and best practices for diverse learning needs
• Strong communication abilities to collaborate with parents, administrators, and fellow educators

What You’ll Do:

• Provide individualized and small-group instruction in a resource room environment
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs, participating in meetings as needed (some meetings may extend past regular hours)
• Foster an inclusive, supportive atmosphere where every student feels valued and motivated
• Adapt lessons and materials to accommodate various learning styles and abilities
• Track and assess student progress, communicating growth and areas of need effectively
