Description
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric clients using standardized assessments and your keen observational skills.
- Create tailored treatment plans that meet both immediate and long-term goals for communication, cognitive function, or swallowing challenges.
- Deliver individualized speech therapy focused on improving language, fluency, voice quality, and swallowing capabilities.
- Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams, including physical and occupational therapists, caregivers, and families, to develop holistic care approaches.
- Provide resources and education to patients and their families to support progress beyond therapy sessions.
- Assist with inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions on occasion, maintaining continuity of care for patients.
- Keep meticulous documentation in compliance with all necessary regulations and standards.
- Commit to ongoing professional development through continuing education and teamwork.
Education
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.
Certifications
- Valid state license as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 30 days of employment.
