Job Responsibilities
- Assess patients of all ages, utilizing established evaluations and observational methodologies.
- Craft individualized treatment strategies to address immediate objectives and broader communication, cognitive, or swallowing challenges.
- Deliver targeted speech therapy sessions focused on enhancing communication skills, language development, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing capabilities.
- Engage collaboratively with physical therapy, occupational therapy, nursing staff, physicians, caregivers, and family members to devise comprehensive care plans.
- Educate patients and their families, ensuring they are equipped to encourage progress beyond therapy sessions.
- Participate in occasional inpatient assessments and interventions to ensure seamless care throughout the healing continuum.
- Keep thorough and timely documentation that aligns with both state and federal regulations.
- Commit to professional growth through continuous education and collaboration with colleagues.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not ASHA-certified.
Certifications Required
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be acquired within 30 days of employment.
