Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.Base pay range$85,000.00/yr - $95,000.00/yrDirect message the job poster from Octagon Consulting, LLCLocation: Remote, but candidates must reside in one of the following areas: Houston | Philadelphia, PA | Long Beach, CA | Palm Beach, FL | Glendale, AZ | Atlanta, GA | Savannah, GAThe Director of Operations and Maintenance will drive operational excellence through data-driven decision-making, process discipline, and a culture of continuous improvement.Key ResponsibilitiesLead maintenance strategy across mobile and fixed plant equipment, including budgeting, resource planning, vendor management, and capital planning.Collaborate with regional operations and engineering teams to align maintenance best practices with production goals and equipment lifecycle management.Build, train, and mentor a high-performing team of operations managers, maintenance managers, supervisors, and mechanics across multiple locations.Ensure maintenance facilities are properly staffed, equipped, and meet company standards, emphasizing skills development and technical training.Develop and maintain KPIs and reporting systems to monitor reliability, cost, downtime, and preventive maintenance compliance.Identify opportunities for cost savings through vendor negotiations, warranty recovery, and reliability-centered maintenance strategies.Foster cross-functional collaboration to minimize unplanned downtime and optimize asset performance.Ensure strict compliance with Royal White Cement, OSHA, and environmental regulations.Support and lead continuous improvement initiatives and participate in companywide maintenance councils or forums.Meet or exceed company safety and operational standards.Respond to emergency situations and work beyond normal business hours as required.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).5+ years of progressive operations and maintenance leadership experience in distribution, construction materials, or heavy industry.Strong knowledge of terminal and warehouse operation and maintenance, safety compliance, and performance management.Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills.Willingness to travel up to 50%.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesStrong understanding and hands-on experience with maintenance programs.Expertise in fixed plant equipment, mobile fleet management, and industrial maintenance operations.Knowledge of OSHA and other relevant safety and industry standards.Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.Analytical ability to interpret complex data and drive strategic decisions that optimize performance.Working ConditionsUp to 50% travel required.May require extended hours and weekend work as needed.Frequent exposure to outdoor environments, including extreme temperatures and noise.Physical RequirementsFrequent walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, and pulling.Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally.Must be capable of performing all job-related physical functions, including operating equipment controls.Seniority levelDirectorEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionManagementIndustriesWarehousing and StorageJ-18808-Ljbffr
