Facilities Technician

Job Responsibilities Perform scheduled and nonscheduled repair, maintenance and installation of machinery, tools, equipment, and associated equipment to ensure continuous and safe operation of the property. Assist in maintenance related items on the Race Track when needed. Perform preventive maintenance in conjunction with all building maintenance and/or cleanliness related items. Submit requests for expenditures associated with repairs, upkeep, and improvement to the Manager of Facilities. Directly or indirectly support all exterior grounds activities, including snow removal, grass cutting, landscaping, parking garage and other exterior area needs. Support all sanitation processes and procedures including rodent and pest control. Perform painting, structural repairs to masonry, woodwork, wallpaper and treatments, and furnishings of buildings. Directly or indirectly support installation, maintenance and repair of HVAC, electrical, plumbing systems and water distribution, including fire suppression and sewerage facilities, and fresh water pumping station. Be accountable for OSHA compliance at Hollywood Gaming and actively participate in Safety compliance. Implement and monitor controls designed to assure full compliance with all federal, state, corporate and property laws, policies and/or mandates. Interact effectively and positively across departmental lines. Demonstrate teamwork. Monitor control systems for building and related water system. Qualifications Proficiency in Microsoft applications. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Other duties as needed. Supervisory Responsibilities This job does not have any supervisory responsibilities. Education and Experience Two years related experience and/or training preferred; High School diploma or equivalent. Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents in English, including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in English may also be required. Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Ability to perform these operations using units of U.S. money, weight, volume and distance. Possess ability to operate an adding machine and have basic computer skills. Reasoning Ability Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Certifications, Licenses, Registrations Must qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations. Required Driver’s License Must possess a valid driver’s license and have acceptable driving history as determined by Penn National Gaming’s auto insurance carrier. Physical Demands Regularly required to stand and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls. Frequently required to reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. Vision requirements include close, color and peripheral vision. Able to push, pull, carry, lift up to 25 lbs., push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas, including confined spaces. Team members must be drug‑free. Work Environment Noise level is usually moderate. All team members are under surveillance and audio surveillance in limited areas. Performance may be observed and recorded. Employee could be exposed to an environment containing second‑hand tobacco smoke.
