Essential functions include maintaining safety, security and supervision of youth at all times, serving as a positive role model, assisting in developing and training staff on policies, procedures and house schedule, serving as the point of contact for policies and procedure compliance in the absence of the supervisor, responsible for the training of new staff as required to ensure understanding and compliance of shelter or group home policies and procedures, assisting in crisis protocol as needed, managing the calendar to ensure all appointments, outings, visits, etc. are on the calendar and staff are aware of necessary staffing needed to accommodate all appointments, assisting all volunteers on site to appropriate activities to help within the houses and promote a positive experience for the children and the volunteers, delegating house responsibilities to ensure all duties are completed prior to shift ending, overseeing the planning of group outings/special functions, assisting conduct monthly audits and review staff training records to ensure all staff compliance in training requirement, assisting program coordinator on all quality assurance checks and program documentation, regular program reports to ensure documentation accuracy, performing the duties and responsibilities of behavioral health technician as needed, modeling center's expectation for sensitivity and competency relating to diversity and cultural awareness, and assisting in on-call rotation as needed.

Qualifications include being at least 21 years of age, having a high school diploma, possessing at least 2 years of verifiable work history, having minimum 3 years' experience working with children or adolescent youth within a behavioral health or similar setting, experience leading, training, and/or developing staff members to their full potential, having valid Arizona driver's license, exhibiting the ability to operate agency vans and/or vehicles safely and having a clean 5-year motor vehicle history, being able to display verbal and written communication skills that meet the requirements of the position and needs of the youth in care, maintaining all agency and licensing training and certification requirements as required, and having computer knowledge/proficiency such that log notes can be entered as required.
