Property Administrator

We are looking for a Property Administrator to support housing placement efforts for a nonprofit organization in Berkeley, California. This contract opportunity with permanent potential is ideal for someone who can blend administrative coordination with strong client service while helping individuals secure and maintain stable housing. In this role, you will work closely with landlords, tenants, and internal partners to manage housing-related activities, documentation, and follow-up. The position requires sound judgment, organization, and a practical understanding of leasing and property support processes. Responsibilities: Guide clients through housing placement activities, including identifying options, coordinating move-in support, and explaining next steps. Develop and maintain relationships with property owners, managers, and community housing contacts to expand available placement opportunities. Evaluate client eligibility and align individuals with suitable housing options based on program criteria and availability. Facilitate leasing activities by supporting agreement review, coordinating property checks, and assisting with lease discussions. Help residents remain successfully housed by addressing concerns early and supporting eviction prevention efforts when challenges arise. Keep case and property records current by entering information promptly and maintaining organized documentation in agency systems. Provide basic tenant education on lease expectations, housing responsibilities, and successful occupancy practices. Partner with case managers and other support staff to respond to client needs and coordinate housing-related services. Requirements: High school diploma required; additional education in social services or a related field is preferred. At least 1 year of experience in housing support, property administration, leasing, real estate, or social services is preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse communities. Demonstrated customer service skills and the ability to remain calm and effective in challenging situations. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; experience with Yardi or similar property management software is a plus. Ability to manage multiple priorities independently while maintaining accuracy and timely follow-through. Familiarity with residential or commercial property management practices, leasing coordination, or housing program support is beneficial.
