Emergency Medicine Position

Location: Our organization operates a Level III Trauma Center.

Annual Visits: We handle approximately 35,000 patient visits each year.

Facility Overview: Our full-service hospital features a 24/7 Hospitalist program, air medical and ambulance services, as well as CT and MRI capabilities within the department. Each room is equipped with bedside ultrasound and point-of-use supplies.

Physician Coverage: We provide 42 hours of physician coverage daily.

Specialist Support: As a tertiary center, we have over 300 physicians and specialists available to ensure comprehensive care, including:

• Trauma Surgery
• Neurosurgery
• Cardiology
• Gastroenterology
• ENT
• Pediatric Hospitalists
• OBGYN
• Pulmonary/Critical Care
• Neurology
• Infectious Disease
• Orthopedic Surgery
• Vascular Surgery
• Anesthesia
• Radiology

Transfer Policy: We only transfer patients out when necessary.

Practice Location: Enjoy the convenience of practicing at a single site!

Teaching Opportunities: Engage with residents, medical students, and PA/ARNP students.

Compensation and Benefits

Employment Type: This is a hospital-employed position, offering a benefits package valued at over $65,000.

Base Salary:

• Day Shift: $471,265 per year ($251/hour)
• Night Shift: $490,116 per year ($261.81/hour)

Extra Shift Compensation: Earn additional pay of $276.92/hour for day shifts and $301.09/hour for night shifts.

Recruitment Incentives:

• $100,000 recruitment bonus
• Up to $15,000 moving allowance

Work Hours: Full-time commitment of 1620 hours per year.

Continuing Medical Education: Annual allowance of $6,000 for CME.

Insurance: Employer-covered liability insurance and tail coverage.

Health Benefits: Coverage for health, dental, vision, life, and both short-term and long-term disability begins on the first day of employment.

Retirement Plans: Participate in a 403(b) retirement program with employer contributions and matching, along with an optional 457(b) deferred compensation plan.

Qualifications

• Board Certified/Board Eligible (must achieve certification within three years of eligibility).
• Completion of an Emergency Medicine Residency Program or Fellowship is required.
• H1B and J1 candidates are encouraged to apply.
• Graduation from an accredited medical or osteopathic medical school is mandatory.
• Must possess or be eligible for a physician license in the State of Iowa, along with an Iowa Controlled Substance Certificate and Federal DEA Certificate.
• All offers are contingent upon successful completion of references, background checks, pre-employment physicals, and drug screenings.
