Role Name: Electrical Engineer
Work Location: Fairport, NY – Onsite
We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Electrical/Hardware Engineer to join our dynamic R&D team. This role is critical to the development of next-generation sensing and monitoring solutions for industrial and utility applications.
The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in analog and digital circuit design, embedded systems, and communication protocols, along with a passion for developing robust, field-ready hardware platforms.
Responsibilities;
- Support the entire product implementation lifecycle, including requirements analysis, high-level and detailed design, PCBA layout, implementation, testing, integration, documentation, compliance certification, and introduction to production.
- Coordinate closely with the architecture team throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware architecture, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, logistics engineering, product management, program management, and other groups as needed.
- Support advanced technology initiatives focused on developing next-generation sensors and sensing platforms.
- Support product enhancements and sustaining engineering activities.
- Participate in hardware development, integration, testing, troubleshooting, and validation activities.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in hardware design for embedded systems.
- Strong proficiency in analog and digital circuit design, including low-noise signal paths and power management.
- Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols such as:
- Modbus RTU/TCP
- LoRa
- RS-485
- Experience integrating communication protocols into new and existing hardware platforms.
- Familiarity with sensor integration, including:
- Temperature sensors
- Humidity sensors
- Pressure sensors
- Optical sensors
- Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout tools; Altium Designer is preferred.
- Experience working within Agile and Scrum frameworks.
- Experience with firmware-hardware co-design and debugging of embedded systems.
- Knowledge of designing products for compliance, including EMC and safety requirements.
- Experience with compliance testing and product certification processes.
- Knowledge and understanding of fluid dynamics and thermal dynamics.
- Experience with computational fluid simulation using ANSYS, SolidWorks, or similar tools.
