Rantoul City Schools is hiring an Assistant Principal for Eastlawn Elementary School beginning with the 2026/27 school year. The Assistant Principal will support and assist the Principal in fulfilling various responsibilities, including leading and managing systems change, improving teaching and learning, building and maintaining collaborative relationships, and leading with integrity and professionalism.

The starting salary range is $70,000 - $80,000 based on years of experience. The position is a 210-day contract with board-paid TRS.

The Assistant Principal will assist the Principal in supervising all staff assigned to the building, and will be responsible for building programs and facilities, coordinating educational objectives and activities with the staff, district administrators, and the Board of Education, interviewing and selecting staff, supervising and evaluating staff performance, planning and developing staff development activities, planning and administering a building-wide public relations program, promoting positive communication with students, staff, parents, and community members, supervising and assisting with the management of student behavior, remaining current with research and trends related to education, attending building functions and district activities, chairing various meetings, participating in the development and implementation of district procedures, programs, and projects, assuming responsibility for professional growth and development, actively engaging and supporting district initiatives, facilitating and sustaining open dialogue with parents, developing an understanding of the learning targets for each content area, leading regular meetings with grade levels/teams/departments, facilitating the development of teacher capacity, guiding grade level teams/departments in the development of common formative and summative assessments, participating in regular formative observations of teachers, facilitating dialogue with staff on effective grading practices, facilitating and participating in the design and implementation of a problem solving process, and understanding and speaking to the appropriateness of using specific interventions.
