As a Residential Behavior Specialist (RBS) , you’ll collaborate with an interdisciplinary team as you help guide, develop, and implement customized behavior support plans, monitor progress toward goals, and provide coaching for staff and families. What You Will Do as a Residential Behavior Specialist:- You will participate in the day-to-day operations of the residential environment.
- You will conduct Functional Behavior assessments and develop function-based behavior support plans using evidence-based methods.
- You will develop program supports based on evidence-based practices and curriculum-based assessments.
- You will coach and support the residential team with the goal of increasing socially significant behavior and achieving individualized goals.
- You will deliver consultation, teaching, and training opportunities to interdisciplinary team members.
- You will stay up-to-date on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) research/practices, and routinely review relevant Anderson Center and OPWDD documents to ensure compliance.
- You will prepare behavioral support summaries in response to interventions.
- You will be involved in all aspects of crisis management until resolution.
- You will provide behavioral and therapeutic services to a program participants with a wide range of sensory sensitivities and profiles.
- You will communicate important behavioral information to parents/guardians and multidisciplinary team professionals in a timely, clear, respectful, sensitive manner.
- You will create and utilize databases for recordkeeping and documentation purposes.
- You will be willing to work evenings and one weekend day.
- You will be steadfastly devoted to the safety and well-being of residents with whom you work.
- Compassion, integrity, patience, empathy, adaptability, and a desire to make a difference.
- Strong training, communication, problem-solving, organizational, interpersonal, follow-through, and collaboration skills.
- Experience working with individuals with autism, developmental disabilities, or behavioral health needs.
- Knowledge of applied behavior analysis (ABA) and positive behavior supports.
- Ability to remain calm and helpful during times of crisis or through challenging situations, showing unconditional positive regard for residents at all times.

- Dedication to ensuring that services related to your role are fully compliant.
- Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), or another related field.
- Proof of enrollment in a Master's Degree program with ABA focus or willingness to pursue that educational path.
- Background and training in ABA is preferred
- Experience working with individuals who are dually diagnosed with developmental disabilities and mental health issues preferred.
- Ability to successfully complete and maintain required orientation, training, and professional qualifications.
- Fulfillment of all mandated reporting requirements, compliance with agency policies, and adherence to organizational protocols.

Pay Range: $25.52 - $28.02 Hourly / commensurate with experience
