Remote Sensing Specialist

Woolpert is hiring a Remote Sensing Specialist to join our dynamic Aerial Operations team. This position is responsible for downloading, processing, QA/QC, sensor calibration and reporting of bathymetric lidar , topographic lidar , and aerial imagery sensors . This position can require both domestic and international travel for sensor support and troubleshooting. This is a mid-level position where dedicated individuals with critical thinking and problem-solving skills have the opportunity to excel.

We are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position. Applicants must already possess work authorization in the country the job is located.

Relocation support to Denver, CO can be made available for exceptional candidates.

What You Will Do:

• Download, process, QA/QC collected bathymetric lidar , topographic lidar , and aerial imagery .
• Support sensor installation and integration into aircraft.
• Facilitate calibration of bathymetric lidar , topographic lidar , and aerial imagery systems .
• Sensor and Equipment Maintenance: Install, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot sensor equipment on the ground and in flight.
• Support mission planning and execution.
• Ensure safe and secure use of company equipment.
• Develop modern approaches to bathymetric lidar , topographic lidar , aerial imagery processing , QA/QC, and calibration.
• Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external clients.

What You Will Bring:

• Understanding of computer hardware.
• Understanding of Lidar Sensor Suites (Leica/Riegl) .
• U.S. citizenship .
• Must have valid U.S. passport and be willing to travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations as necessary.
• Willingness and ability to undergo pre-employment verification and drug screening.
• Willingness to travel 10-20% of the year both CONUS and OCONUS .
• Land Survey experience is a plus.
• High School Diploma and/or G.E.D. and/or related experience, such as:
• Data Acquisition & Processing: Participate in ground and flight operations efforts as needed, including mission planning, execution, briefing, debriefing, communications, and safety.
• Ensuring proper collection of data for accuracy and quality.
• Experience with the following: Leica LSS, MisssionPro, HxMap, Inertial Explorer, MicroStation, ArcGIS, Qimera, Global Mapper, QINSy, HYPACK, Edgetech Discover, TerraSolid, and SonarWiz .
• Strong working knowledge of geomatics and mapping concepts (academic and/or professional).
• Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment; offer constructive feedback and direction to support goals.
• Previous Land Surveying experience a plus.
